Officially opening its doors in 1966, Centennial Theatre was built to commemorate the centennial celebrations of Canada.We are a 660 seat municipally managed theatre owned by the City of North Vancouver, and operated by the North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission.
Centennial Theatre has been home to many community and professional organizations including North Shore Light Opera, Lions Gate Sinfonia, many local schools and dance schools.
In addition to remaining a supportive rental venue for community organizations, Centennial Theatre is a popular destination for professional touring companies, comedians and musicians.
We are visited by between 100,000 and 125,000 patrons and performers each year.
Generations of North Shore families have attended performances at Centennial Theatre, and we look forward to generations more.
